Diretto dal talentuoso regista F. Gary Gray del film candidato all’Oscar Straight Outta Compton, Fast and Furious 8 è previsto per lanciare una nuova trilogia del film quando uscirà nei cinema il 14 aprile 2017.

Questo film sarà seguito da un nono film che verrà rivelato al pubblico il 19 aprile 2019 e una decimo film previsto nei cinema il 2 aprile 2021. Fast and Furious 8, 9 e 10 non sono gli unici film nuovi che Universal ha in programma per il franchise.

Fast and Furious 8 conferma nel cast gli abituali volti del franchising quali Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges “Ludacris”, Elsa Pataky, Nathalie Emmanuel e Lucas Black che riprenderanno i loro ruoli di street racers internazionali.

Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson e Kurt Russell sono confermati per tornare nella mischia. Charlize Theron è confermata nei panni della villain con Kristofer Hivju che sarà uno dei suoi scagnozzi. Scott Eastwood sarà un protetto di Mr. Nobody di Russell e Hellen Mirren avrà anche un ruolo nel cast.
