Tribeca Film Festival 2018: rivelata la line-up, da Zoe ad All about Nina

Il Tribeca Film Festival ha fissato la sua line-up per l’edizione del 2018, includendo 96 film, tra cui Zoe di Drake Doremus – una storia di fantascienza con Ewan McGregor e Lea Seydoux – e il documentario di chiusura The Fourth Estate – lo sguardo di Liz Garbus al New York Times mentre copre il primo anno dell’amministrazione Trump.

Dei quasi 100 titoli sul dossier del Tribeca Film Festival 2018, 75 sono anteprime mondiali e il 46% dei film sono diretti da donne. I programmatori dividono l’allineamento in sezioni suddivise in base a genere narrativo, film internazionali e documentari in competizione, oltre a sezioni di spotlight e programmazione di genere, tra le altre sezioni.

L’ultimo di Doremus, Zoe (Like Crazy), selezionato come selezione centrale del festival, è incentrato sui colleghi di un laboratorio di ricerca high-tech e presenta un cast che comprende anche Christina Aguilera, Rashida Jones, Theo James e Miranda Otto. Tra i film in concorso ci sono i cast di Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Common e Beau Bridges (All About Nina di Eva Vives); Alia Shawkat e Kumail Nanjiani (Duck Butter di Miguel Arteta); e Matt Smith (Mapplethorpe di Ondi Timoner).

Il documentario di Gilda Radner Love, Gilda aprirà il Tribeca Film Festival 2018. Nella sezione dei documentari in concorso – per la quale il Tribeca è stato un notevole launchpad negli anni precedenti – ci sono film come L’uomo che rubò Banksy di Marco Proserpio, narrato da Iggy Pop; Il doc sul pattinaggio di Dyana Winkler e Tina Brown United Skates; e il ritratto di Rachel Dolezal di Laura Brownson, The Rachel Divide.
